Middle School
Middle School is a time of rapid intellectual, emotional, and physical growth. During this period, your child will become increasingly reflective about life, relationships, and school as they begin to make significant decisions about future study and career pathways.
The Middle School at VISS CR, includes students from Grade 6 to Grade 9. The innovative and modern learning space is divided into the boys’ and girls’ sections, with a team of dedicated and experienced Middle School teachers supporting the transition from the Primary to Secondary school model. With a strong focus on the development of learning skills, your child’s literacy and numeracy skills will become more sophisticated as they are introduced to important disciplines, ideas, and learning styles. The integrated approach to learning introduced in the Primary School will continue in Grades 6 & 7, with a focus on the core curriculum. In Grades 8 & 9, students enhance their learning with further choices such as Business, Art, Food Technology and Digitech. In addition, students will build on their knowledge and skills in communication, effective group work, creative thinking and problem solving.
From Years 6-9, the Australian curriculum (Victoria) is organised around two general categories, with different subjects and areas of learning in each category; these subjects are complemented by the UAE Ministry of Education’s compulsory subjects for all learners:
