MOE Subjects
In accordance with the Ministry of Education’s prescribed curriculum, both the Arabic Language and Islamic Studies are a compulsory part of the VISS curriculum.
Arabic for Arabs
This programme is for students who hold a passport from one of the 22 Arab League countries. Classes begin in Pre-KG, with Arabic becoming a core subject in Grade 1 through six weekly periods in Primary, continuing with four periods in Secondary. Students develop the four key language skills — listening, reading, writing, and speaking — alongside grammar and advanced structures such as Albalaghah. Standard Ministry of Education textbooks are used, supplemented by additional resources as needed.
Arabic for non-Arabs
This programme is for students whose passports are not from Arab League countries. It follows a competency-based approach, enabling students to progressively build their skills. The focus is on listening, reading, writing, and speaking, supported by basic grammar. In addition to language acquisition, students also gain a deeper cultural understanding of the Arabic world.
Teaching and Learning Approach
